Al Summers - I specialize in background music for parties, weddings, corporate events, dinners etc. - gentle classical guitar. I've been in many musical situations - as a classical guitar and renaissance lute soloist, through avante garde ensembles, to various blues and R&B bands. Many of my projects have spawned successful spin-offs for other musicians.
*I use Award Session D.I. boxes, pre-amps & cables for studio/session and tuition work, and Ozark acoustic and resophonic guitars. My classical guitars are made by Rik Middleton.
Jook Joint - rootsy duo. Pete Driscoll (6-string, 12-string and
electric guitars, bass, vocal); Al Summers (guitar, slide, piano).
Guests: Ray Bradfield (mandolin, slide, 12-string guitar, vocal).
Repertoire: blues, jazz, folk, country and acoustic rock, 1920s music through to 21st century plus some originals and arrangements.
They have a wide variety of styles, which helps them appeal to a large cross section of people. This band
likes to play at acceptable volumes. As seen and heard at: The Arc Theatre,
The Rondo Theatre Bath, Chippenham Folk Festival, Iford Festival, BBC Radio, many local clubs, pubs, parties, halls
and community centres.
